PLATFORM / DATA AND COMMANDS
Battalion SCADA
Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) on the Battalion EMS controller. Collect equipment data, assign command authority and keep the site record.
01 / FIELD DATA
Every value carries its context.
Battalion SCADA polls power conversion systems (PCS), battery management systems, meters, protection relays, remote input/output (I/O) and fire panel contacts over Modbus TCP and RTU. These are the network and serial forms of Modbus. It reads relays and remote terminal units (RTUs) over Distributed Network Protocol 3 (DNP3).
Every value carries a timestamp, quality, units and limits. That context stays with the measurement so the operator can distinguish a current reading from a stale or invalid value.
02 / COMMAND AUTHORITY
One writer holds each command point.
One writer at a time holds authority over each command point. Local control and remote operations use this authority model to keep competing instructions from writing the same point at the same time.
Battalion EMS provides site control. The Battalion power plant controller (PPC) distributes plant setpoints within interconnection and battery limits.
03 / SITE HISTORY
The record continues when the wide-area link is lost.
An on-site historian records every tag in checksummed append-only files. When the wide-area link returns, it replays the backlog to Battalion Live.
The local record and the remote operating view use the same field data. Engineering and integration defines the equipment mappings and the signals needed for operation.
