PLATFORM / PLANT CONTROL
Battalion power plant controller
The Battalion power plant controller (PPC) holds the plant inside its interconnection limits and distributes setpoints across inverter groups.
01 / THE CONNECTION
Plant control follows the interconnection limits.
The point of interconnection (POI) is the boundary where the plant meets the grid. Battalion PPC controls active power, reactive power, frequency response and export limits at that boundary.
The plant command must fit both the interconnection agreement and the equipment available to deliver it. Battalion EMS coordinates the site through a supervisory loop that runs once per second.
02 / INVERTER GROUPS
Setpoints stay within the limits each battery reports.
Battalion PPC distributes setpoints across inverter groups within the limits each battery reports. The requested plant response becomes commands the available groups can carry.
Battalion’s supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) supplies field values with timestamps, quality, units and limits. One writer at a time holds authority over each command point.
03 / SITE INTEGRATION
The agreement and equipment define the scope.
Bring the interconnection agreement, single-line diagram and equipment interfaces. Engineering and integration maps the plant requirements to those interfaces and the commissioning checks.
For front-of-the-meter storage, this connects market dispatch to the limits at the meter and in the battery.
